Google advises how to improve a website that does not rank

Google uses many factors to understand which websites are the most relevant for any user search query.

Quality content, quick download speeds, mobile friendliness, a positive user experience, clear user-friendly design and other factors can all contribute toward improved rankings and visibility of a website on Google.

Google’s John Mueller shares the following useful tips:

  1. Is there a reason why your website should appear above the top ten natural organic results if it is not a better website ?
  2. Are you using a unique angle that sets your website apart from other websites in your industry ?
  3. Are you thinking about how you can get your website to a “new level” ?
  4. Are you avoiding similar content to other live websites ?
